Udaipur - The White City
Often referred as Venice of the East, Udaipur is the hub of picturesque locations and it even has great history behind it. It was in 1553 that Maharana Udai Singh II founded this city and made it the capital of erstwhile Mewar Kingdom. From September to March is the best time to visit this scenic city, which even enjoys a mention in Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book. Ones of James Bond films Octopussy was also filmed here.
